AmeriCU Goes Green-FREE Recycling Bags at Branches! ROME, NY — June 03, 2008 AmeriCU representatives made a commitment to educate themselves about becoming a complete ‘green’ organization this year and have created some very important and advantageous partnerships with local organizations such as the Oneida Herkimer Solid Waste Authority and Mohawk Valley Applied Technology. With the assistance of the above named organizations, AmeriCU reps have been learning how to become ‘green’ most effectively and efficiently. Additionally, AmeriCU’s ‘green’ plan includes assisting local green initiatives. Partnering with the Utica Zoo to purchase a minimum of 15 recycling bins to be placed in specific locations throughout the zoo is the first ‘green’ project on deck. FREE ‘Green,’ recyclable tote bags are available at the following AmeriCU branches starting Monday, June 9: • Black River Blvd, Rome • Griffiss Business & Technology Park in Rome • School Road in Rome • Oneida • Commercial Drive • Herkimer The bags are free and members are encouraged to leave a donation for the purchase of the recycling bins and for additional, local ‘green’ initiatives in and around our community. AmeriCU representatives have created and unveiled a newly designed ‘green’ logo to identify and brand its ‘green’ initiatives.
