Credit Union Association of New York, young professionals taking CU message to Capitol Hill
September 30, 2013
In a new initiative from the Credit Union Association of New York, young credit union professionals from across the state will "Hike the Hill" in Washington, D.C., next month to advocate on key issues.
The group, which includes 10 young professionals from New York credit unions, will fly to Washington Oct. 23 and hand-deliver thousands of postcards containing the "Don't Tax My Credit Union" message to Sens. Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand. The postcards were collected by credit unions statewide as part of the ongoing Don't Tax My Credit Union campaign.
The young professionals will also dialogue with the senators, several House members and staffers on a wide range of issues, including member business lending, supplemental capital and the credit union tax exemption.
The advocates, who will be accompanied by staff from the Association, include our very own Cristina Morrissiey, Manager of our Liverpool location and Heather Wood, Manager of our Fayetteville location.
Members and staff of AmeriCU Credit Union are encouraged to take action as well by visiting:
