At AmeriCU, we believe in cultivating a culture that promotes ongoing excellence. We’re excited to recognize and celebrate John A. Stevenson and Mike Russell for their remarkable accomplishments. John and Mike have demonstrated our culture by creating meaningful connections with AmeriCU teammates, our members, and the communities we serve.

John A. Stevenson, AmeriCU Credit Union’s Board Director was recognized as the New York Credit Union Association’s 2023 Outstanding Volunteer on Friday, June 16 at the New York Credit Union Association’s Annual Meeting and Convention at the Sagamore Resort in Lake George. This award honors individuals who devote their lives to the philosophy and success of the credit union movement, and who have made significant impact on credit unions at the local, state, or national levels.

Stevenson embraced the credit union “people helping people” philosophy every day with his dedication and commitment. He has served the credit union since 2000 held Chairman of the board from 2014 to 2023.

Mike Russell was recently recognized as the Fort Drum Man of the Mountain for 2023. This award is presented to select individuals who have contributed to the growth and development of Fort Drum and is the highest award given to a civilian by the 10th Mountain Division for their dedication and service to support the soldiers, their families, and the post.

Russell has worked for AmeriCU for 16 years and in that time has developed a rapport with the 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum community.

John and Mike embrace the credit union’s mission and have exemplified this through their unwavering commitment. Their hard work and dedication have set a remarkable example for all, inspiring others to embrace the values and principles that define AmeriCU. The credit union is truly grateful for their outstanding contributions and positive impact they have made on our organization and the communities we serve.
