$10,000 in Scholarships Available to AmeriCU Members – Apply by Feb. 1

Every year, AmeriCU is proud to award up to ten $1,000 scholarships to members who are either high school seniors or continuing college students. Scholarship recipients are chosen by a committee made up of AmeriCU members and award winners are honored at our Annual Meeting in March.

Submit your application today! The AmeriCU Scholarship deadline is February 1. You can download an application or visit one of our convenient locations to request a physical application! Please pay close attention to all application requirements and deadlines, as incomplete or late applications will be deemed ineligible.

The Scholarship Program is open to all primary members* who will be attending an accredited college, university or other institution of higher learning on a full-time basis during the next academic school year. Completed applications must be received no later than February 1.

*Employees of AmeriCU, Directors, committee members, volunteers and their families are not eligible. Winners will be notified by March 1. Anyone not notified by March 1 was not selected as a scholarship recipient this year.

New York Credit Union Association Scholarship Program

Applications must be submitted to the credit union no later than January 8.

AmeriCU is excited to announce that, once again, AmeriCU members are eligible to apply for the New York Credit Union Association’s statewide scholarship program.

Open to graduating seniors attending college for the first time in the Fall of 2021, this program is a great example of the “people helping people” philosophy of the credit union movement.

Please note that the application submission process has changed! Make sure to carefully read and follow all the instructions below and on the application prior to submission!

To get started, fill out the convenient online application. Once filled out, be sure to save your file; you will need to upload the application and all required materials here.

NOTE: The application asks that you provide a Credit Union Verification Code. To receive this code, visit your nearest AmeriCU Financial Center or call 800.388.2000. Our Member Relationship Advisors can confirm that you are an AmeriCU Credit Union member in good standing and provide you with the necessary Verification Code to submit your application.

If you are unable to submit your application online, you may bring your completed application and supporting documents to your nearest AmeriCU Financial Center.

Important notes for 2021: If you have not been able to take either the SAT, PSAT or ACT due to COVID-19 restrictions, you should still submit your application. You may also include any Spring 2020 sports that you were planning to play that have been moved, and you can also do the same if your Fall 2020 sports have been moved to Spring 2021.
