Important Update Related to Joint Owners on New Accounts

AmeriCU News

We are implementing a new standard for accounts with multiple owners. Effective September 15, 2025 membership accounts must have the same joint members listed on all shares and loans under that membership number.

This will create consistency for account setup, making it even easier for members to open new accounts and manage their account access.

We will not be making changes to current accounts. This will only affect new shares or loans opened on or after September 15, 2025.

AmeriCU will be depositing an additional penny into your share account for each joint individual on the membership, representing equal ownership in the credit union. You will see this held from your available funds.

Please note these changes do not apply to Business Accounts, Legal Entity Accounts, IRAs, or Line of Credits.
