Established January 1, 2025, the AmeriCU Charitable Foundation supports community-driven initiatives and improves the quality of life for individuals and families across its service areas. By providing grants, partnerships, and volunteer efforts, it aims to uplift communities and create lasting, positive change.

Our foundation focuses on four primary pillars: supporting Active Duty Military and Veterans, advancing Economic Development, promoting Educational Literacy, and enhancing Social Programs and Services. By working alongside local organizations and community leaders, we aim to provide resources and create opportunities that uplift and empower those who need it most.

The AmeriCU Charitable Foundation is off to a strong start in 2026. In just the first part of the year, we’ve already donated to more than 70 organizations—an early reflection of the commitment we share to give back where we live, work, and play. From programs that support veterans and military families to initiatives that uplift children and strengthen animal welfare, we’re proud to help meet needs both immediate and long-term. We’re also investing in the future of our region by supporting economic development efforts, advancing health and wellness initiatives, and expanding access to STEM learning opportunities. And this is only the beginning—throughout 2026, we’ll continue partnering with local nonprofits and community leaders to help make a lasting, positive impact across our region.
We’re also gearing up for our flagship event: the 2026 Salute to the Troops Tribute Concert, taking place June 25 at Fort Drum. This annual concert is a heartfelt way for our Foundation—and the communities we serve—to recognize the soldiers of the United States Army 10th Mountain Division and to say thank you for their valiant service, sacrifice, and steadfast support of our country. Below in this newsletter, we’ll be sharing opportunities for community members and partners to get involved and donate as we work to raise funds and support this special event. As I look at the incredible organizations we’ve been able to support in just the first quarter of this year, I feel both hopeful and energized for what we can accomplish together in the months ahead. Every grant and donation represents a neighbor served, a program strengthened, and a positive step forward for the places we call home. Thank you for helping make this impact possible—and for continuing to stand with us as we build momentum throughout 2026.
The AmeriCU Charitable Foundation launched on January 1, 2025, and as we celebrate our one-year anniversary, I am thrilled to share some highlights from our inaugural year. Working alongside our community partners and supporting nonprofit organizations across our 24-county footprint has made for a very successful year.
Our Foundation donated to over 80 organizations throughout Central New York, the North Country, Mohawk Valley, and the Southern Tier. Over this past year, we’ve met with organizations to hear about the needs in our communities and explored ways we could partner, whether by volunteering or spreading the word. At AmeriCU, we believe that our commitment to the communities we serve goes beyond the services we offer; it’s about helping our members and employees thrive where we live, work, and play.
Our pillars of giving touch all areas of nonprofit work, from Economic Development and Active-Duty Military and Veterans, to Educational Literacy and Social Programs and Services.
Through these efforts, we have helped fund special nights out for cancer patients undergoing treatment, exhibits at local zoos, races and runs, research for advancements in health and disease treatments, beautification programs to make our communities more welcoming, concerts and initiatives to support our active military, programs for seniors to build connections, stocking local food banks, and so many other worthy causes that have positively impacted our communities this past year.
As I look forward to 2026 and this new year we have just begun, I feel great anticipation for all the new relationships we will make in our communities and the initiatives we’ll support. I look forward to connecting with both new and familiar organizations to learn about the opportunities that will make our neighborhoods wonderful places to be for years to come.
