AmeriCU Credit Union is pleased to announce the winners of its first-ever Community Giving Contest! This contest was designed to support nonprofit organizations that are making a difference in our community – creating meaningful connections to make our communities stronger. Ten outstanding organizations from St. Lawrence County have been awarded $1,000 as part of a $20,000 initiative benefiting nonprofits in St. Lawrence and Tompkins counties.

1. The Arc Jefferson – Supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
2. Morristown Gateway Museum – Showcasing the region’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
3. Victims Assistance Center – Providing resources and advocacy for victims of violence.
4. WPBS TV – Promoting education and community engagement through public broadcasting.
5. North Country Children’s Museum – Inspiring creativity and learning from children and families.
6. United Helpers – Delivering comprehensive care and services to those in need.
7. CHJC – Supporting children and families with essential services.
8. Volunteer Transportation Center Foundation Inc. – Offering transportation to health, wellness and critical needs destinations for those with limited access.
9. Amvets Post 265 – Serving Veterans and their families through community initiatives.
10. Parishville Sportsmen’s Club Inc. – Promoting outdoor activities and conservation efforts.

AmeriCU’s recent Field of Membership expansion into 27 additional New York counties creates new opportunities to increase convenience, access, and community investment for current and future members. The growth supports continued investments in technology, security, member services, and local partnerships while maintaining AmeriCU’s commitment to personalized service and financial success.
The Annual Back-to-School Giveaway at the JPG Community Center provides backpacks filled with school supplies, dental hygiene items, and additional food support to local families. Held alongside the organization’s weekly food pantry, the event serves children and families across Oneida, Herkimer, Otsego, Madison, and surrounding counties, with a goal of assisting 2,500 students in 2026.
