ROME, NY – JUNE 8, 2026: AmeriCU Credit Union is supporting animal welfare organizations across the communities it serves through a $5,000 donation benefiting 24 local animal shelters. Through this initiative, AmeriCU is supporting the dedicated organizations working every day to ensure pets receive the care they need while they wait to find their forever homes.
As part of the effort, AmeriCU Credit Union provided monetary donations and partnered with local animal shelters to help fulfill items from their wish lists. Teams collected and delivered supplies such as food, treats, cleaning products, bedding, toys, and other essential items needed to care for animals awaiting adoption.
In several communities, AmeriCU employees visited shelters in person to deliver donations, spend time with shelter staff and volunteers, and meet many of the dogs and cats in their care. These visits provided an opportunity for employees to see firsthand the impact local shelters have on animals and the communities they serve.
“At AmeriCU, giving back to local animal shelters is one more way we show how much we care about the well-being of animals in our communities. AmeriCU teammates loved spending time with the pets and seeing firsthand the impact these shelters have on their lives.” Said Vanessa Szwejbka, AVP Community Relations & Executive Director AmeriCU Charitable Foundation.
