AmeriCU Credit Union Celebrates Grand Welcoming of Financial Centers in Clinton and Essex Counties

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE AmeriCU Credit Union Celebrates Grand Welcoming of Financial Centers in Clinton and Essex Counties

PERU, N.Y. – MAY 19, 2026: AmeriCU Credit Union celebrated the grand welcoming of its Financial Centers in Clinton and Essex Counties on Thursday, May 14, with a day of community activities, refreshments, giveaways, and a ribbon cutting celebration held at the Peru Financial Center. Community members, local officials, employees, and leadership gathered to celebrate AmeriCU’s commitment to serving the communities of Peru, Keeseville, Wilmington, and AuSable Forks, and the surrounding areas.

During the event, AmeriCU shared plans to dedicate a boardroom at the Peru Financial Center later this summer in honor of the Roach family legacy, recognizing generations of commitment and service. John Roach founded the Peru Central Schools Federal Credit Union in 1963, which later became Mountain Valley Federal Credit Union. His daughter, Kathleen Roach, carried that legacy forward through more than 30 years of service to the credit union in a variety of roles, including Board President. The John F. Roach Boardroom will serve as a lasting recognition of the family’s dedication to credit union members, employees, and the communities they served throughout the years.

“This celebration was about recognizing the people whose dedication and commitment to this community created something truly meaningful over the years,” said Ron Belle, President and CEO of AmeriCU Credit Union. “That legacy of service and genuine care for people is something we are proud to carry forward.”

The event also included recognition of former Mountain Valley Federal Credit Union board members and remarks from community leaders and local officials, including Kristy Kennedy, VP of Marketing, Operations and Business Development for the North Country Chamber of Commerce; Craig H. Randall, Town of Peru Supervisor; and Nadia Potts on behalf of Assemblyman Michael Cashman.

AmeriCU Credit Union completed its merger with Mountain Valley Federal Credit Union on December 1, 2025, expanding AmeriCU’s presence throughout the North Country and strengthening its commitment to serving members across the region.
