AmeriCU Credit Union Receives Approval to Expand Membership Eligibility Across New York State

ROME, N.Y. — July 20, 2026: AmeriCU Credit Union announced today that it has received approval from the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) for its application to expand its field of membership, allowing the credit union to serve individuals, families, and businesses in 27 additional counties across New York State.

The approval represents a significant milestone in AmeriCU’s strategic growth journey and expands opportunities for more New Yorkers to access the credit union’s personalized financial services, best-in-class products, and community-focused approach. The expansion will increase AmeriCU’s field of membership to 51 counties across the state.

The newly approved counties include Albany, Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Erie, Genesee, Greene, Livingston, Monroe, Niagara, Ontario, Orleans, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schuyler, Steuben, Sullivan, Ulster, Warren, Washington, Wyoming, and Yates.
