The American Heart Association is a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. Dedicated to ensuring equitable health in all communities, the organization has been a leading source of health information for more than one hundred years. By driving breakthroughs and implementing proven solutions in science, policy and care, we work tirelessly to advance health and transform lives every day.
2. What is your area of impact (location/reach)?
The American Heart Association funds groundbreaking research, advocates for the public’s health and provides critical resources to save and improve lives affected by cardiovascular disease and stroke. Our impact priorities include women’s health, cardiac emergency readiness, total health and well-being, patient care and more. We are a national organization, but our local staff members are focused on the Central New York community.
3. Why is the work you are doing important to the community?
Everyone deserves the opportunity to live a longer, healthier life. We’re here to support that journey and help make it possible for more people.
4. How has the AmeriCU Charitable Foundation helped your mission?
AmeriCU Credit Union has been a supporter of the American Heart Association for many years, from sponsorships to event chairs and even serving on the local board of directors. This year, support from the AmeriCU Charitable Foundation through the Recess Reboot sponsorship allowed us to donate recess and physical activity equipment to schools to help give students opportunities to be active and healthy.
5. What is your hope for the future?
The American Heart Association has set a goal of doubling the survival of cardiac arrest by 2030. Our vision is to advance health and hope for everyone, everywhere.
